Kaslo offers a wide variety of public services to residents of and visitors to Kaslo and the surrounding communities. Beyond the basics of fire and police protection, municipal and provincial offices and a wide variety of public amenities, Kaslo enjoys excellent health care facilities, community and social services, educational programs, cultural and arts programs and facilities and a well stocked pubic library.

Municipal Services
Municipal services are provided by the Village of Kaslo. The village office is temporarily housed in the Kemball Memorial Centre while the Village Hall undergoes renovations. The Village Office provides Council agendas and minutes, garbage collection
information, current bylaws and permit requirements for building, development, and information about renting municipal facilities.

Fire Protection
Kaslo is served by the dedicated volunteers who make up the Kaslo Volunteer Fire Department.

Police
Municiple policing is provided by the Kaslo RCMP detachment. 250-353-2225. The RCMP offices are located at 312 Fourth St.

Parks
The Village has two public parks: Vimy Park and Kaslo Bay Park, and three public beaches: Moyie Beach, Kaslo Bay Park Beach and the Lighthouse Beach.

Camping
There are three public campgrounds in the Kaslo area: Kaslo Municipal Campground, Davis Creek Provincial Campground and Lost Ledge Provincial Campground. There are also a number of privately owned campground facilities available.

Library
Kaslo is very proud of the Kaslo & District Public Library. Located in the basement of the historic Village Hall, the library is coordinated by a very dedicated group of volunteers and staff. There you will find books to borrow and to buy.

Social Services
The North Kootenay Lake Community Services Society provides victim services, parent & family support, lifeline services and counseling for all ages.

Veterinary Care
If you are looking for medical care for your animal companion there is a veterinarian available to serve your needs. Kennel and pet sitting services are also available.

Provincial Services
There is a Provincial Government agent in the Kemball Memorial Centre. The office offers a full range of provincial government services for both individuals and businesses. 250-353-2219

Education
Kaslo provides educational opportunities for all ages.

Periwinkle Children's Centre provides play, social and educational experiences and childcare for children aged 2 ½ to 5 years old.
J.V. Humphries School is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school. In addition to the core curriculum, the school provides many electives including shop courses, physical education courses and a very active drama program. The teachers assist students in a wide range of extra curricular sports activities.
Lakeside Learning Center provides instruction in the core secondary curriculum with students attending JVH for their elective course selections.
Selkirk College provides educational options in a wide array of academic, career, vocational, technical and community programs at their Front Street location.

Medical Services
Kaslo has many health services available to serve Kaslo & the surrounding area. The following services are available at the Victorian Community Health Centre: Primary Health Services, long term care, respite care, emergency services, x-ray, lab work, physiotherapy, respiratory care, mammography screening, chronic disease management, tobacco management, dinners at home, public health and women's health services, and optometry. Other health related services available within the Kaslo area include dentistry, massage therapy, chiropractic and reflexology.

Museums & Historical Displays
Kaslo is rich in heritage and our museums keep it accessible to all. The SS Moyie, Langham Cultural Center and Kootenay Lake Archives provide fascinating views of what the past was like in Kaslo.
